August 8, 2009 Update
Aug 12th, 2009 | By Steven Gabbard | Category: NewsGreendale Residents:
In an effort to make sure all Greendale residents are informed regarding the activities of the HOA, an eNewsletter will be created and sent to all residents with an email address bi-weekly or monthly – depending on the topics that need to be discussed. The eNewsletter will be in addition to the printed newsletter.
The Greendale HOA is now on Twitter. Follow us by adding @GreendaleHOA or visiting the site at (http://twitter.com/GreendaleHOA). Tweets will also be incorporated into the new HOA website (details below).
Are you being a Good Neighbor?
This was a subject at a recent HOA board meeting. Part of the role of any good HOA is to build community. This is a task that involves all residents in order to make this a success. For more information about what it takes to be a good neighbor, click here. Want more information on how you can better serve your community and get involved? Reply to this address.
Save the Date
Fall Festival (October 24, 5-7PM at Blarney Court) More details about the event will be provided as the event gets closer. Parents, please plan to bring your kids to the event. The Lexington Police Department will be providing FREE child ID kits.
Christmas Party (December 17, 5-7PM at Masterson Station Clubhouse) This potluck event will provide families a great opportunity to celebrate the Christmas season with their neighbors. More details will be released as the event gets closer.
Coyotes
We have received several complaints about coyotes in the neighborhood and the fear many residents have for their family, property, and pets. Animal Control has been unsuccessful trapping the coyotes but you can help. When you see a coyote you are encouraged to report the incident to Animal Control (859) 233-0044. Although someone most likely will not be sent out the same day, the report will be filed for future decisions regarding the issue.
Lieutenant Dwayne Holman of the LFUCG Office of the Chief of Police has been contacted and offered this statement to the Greendale HOA Board. “It is against ordinance to discharge a firearm within the urban service boundary except in defense of property and persons. So, if you are defending damage to your property or a threat to yourself (or others) you would certainly be able to defend that discharge.”
Complaints
Do you live next to a violation? If so, report it online at www.theglensatgreendale.com.
Website
The new HOA website is still in production. But we need your help. As a resident, what content do you expect to find? What issues are important to you? What features need to be provided?
